ResNet: Setup and Configure Mac OS 10.5x

IMPORTANT NOTE: AirPort (Wireless connection) must be turned off at all time when using ResNet connection.

  1. To verify if the Mac OS is version 10.5.x, select About this Mac from the Apple menu.
     
  2. Displayed on the screen below should be a similar version.
     
     
  3. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.
     
  4. In the System Preference window, click the Network icon.

  6. Select Ethernet from the menu on the left.
     
     
  7. Select Using DHCP from the Configure drop-down menu.
     
  8. Verify that both DNS Servers and Search Domains text fields are blank.
     
  9. Click on Apply button.
     
  10. Plug in the network cable and click on Advance... button.
    • Under TCP/IP tab, click on Renew DHCP Lease button to get an IP address.
    • Click OK.

     
  11. Click Apply to exit Network window.

Note 1: AirPort must be disabled at all time when using ResNet connection.

Note 2: During registration, we recommend using Firefox instead of Safari.

If prompted with certificate error message:
  • Click 'Or you can add an exceptions...'
  • Click Add Exceptions ... | Get Certificate | Confirm Security Exceptions
